A sauces business plan should have its own flavor, though it of course needs to meet all the basic criteria of a Small Business Administration business plan. These include having a financial pro forma that shows your projected revenues, the likely break-even point, a cash flow analysis and profit and loss, and the balance sheet for three years. You should also make every effort to describe the sauces you'll manufacture and the way you plan to market them to wholesalers or to end users. All told, the business plan need to feature all of the following:
• An analysis of the market opportunity
• A review of the industry as it stands now
• A description of the sauces themselves -- flavors, nationalities, sizes, etc.
• A list of your personnel needs if you will have employees
The sauces business plan also needs to describe how you will market the sauces. If you have wholesale off-takers lined up, explain who your likely buyers are or give a list of the companies you think you'll sell to once operational. If you have a direct to consumer model, where do the sales occur? Who likes the sauce most, if you're market research? The plan needs to make it clear how you'll achieve significant sales and earn sufficient market share to repay all debt and offer a profitable future to stakeholders. Want help with this plan?
