The front cover for business plan documents can show whatever you feel it needs to. The most common layout includes your business logo and contact information. This can be your company's street or mailing address (if already established) along with your URL (provided there's content there). You should also have your name or the name of your desired contact person, along with an office phone number and an email address. Unlike with a resume – which never needs the header “resume†– it might not be immediately apparent what the document is, so you should title it “business plan†on the cover page. Your cover might also include any of the following, depending on how advanced your concept is:
• A product image or sketch
• A photo of your facility or store
• A company tagline or slogan
• A mobile contact number for the lead executive
• The date the plan was finalized
The actual contents and presentation of this cover sheet are entirely up to you. In some cases the front of the business plan is almost completely blank and includes only the corporate logo. For early-stage companies without branding or marketing collateral, block text spelling out the business name will suffice.
