Business Plan Denim

Did you search business plan denim? If you're planning to manufacture denim and sell it to clothing makers, you'll need to show a comprehensive equipment list (including lease cost, depreciation rates, etc.) and a catalogue of potential off-takers. Talking about the state of the fabrics industry and describing how your company will fit into this landscape is also important. For a clothier that will market high-end denim products to consumers, your pro forma model doesn't need to account for equipment costs, but proving that you have done your homework on the industry is no less important. The market for high-end denim has changed a bit in recent years, and you will need to have current research incorporated into your projections. A business plan for denim should answer these questions, at a minimum:

• Who is the target consumer for your denim products?
• What is the cost to you to create them?
• What growth rate do you project for your sales, year over year?
• How much capital do you need and where will you spend the most of it?
• What licenses do you need to obtain, if any? What permits?

The pro forma financial model that a denim business plan will need should include each of the following components: start-up summary/use of funds, revenue forecast, break-even analysis, profit and loss table, cash flow analysis, balance sheet, sensitivity analysis, and a personnel plan. The SBA will require a monthly break-down for the first year post-funding, and most investors will want to see something similar (in addition to a calculation of their potential share). Using market-derived assumptions about what your COGS will be and the average value of a sale will make your pro forma much more believable. You can get information on costs from competitors (where data is publicly available) and/or industry research resources. Need an ally here?
