Did you search individual business plans looking for the type of business plan you will need for your specific venture? Business plan topics vary widely – they're as varied and unique as global industries themselves. But you'll be surprised to find just how many commonalities there are inside the body of any given business plan. Regardless of what your company seeks to accomplish, the plan's mission is the same – describe the opportunity, show the market for your product/service, and offer a set of projections showing how much the venture could earn. Your plan should answer all of the following, which are common questions any investor or banker will raise:
• What market need do you fulfill?
• What does your target market look like?
• How has the industry been faring?
• How will you advertise yourself to customers?
• What amount of funding do you need?
• When can the business hit break-even?
Any good business plan will tie the answers to these questions into the financial pro forma itself, which should show a minimum of three years of projections. You need to include a full start-up summary (use of funds), investor proposition or loan repayment schedule, personnel plan, a revenue forecast, the profit and loss tables, a cash flow, and the balance sheet. A monthly look at the first year in your model is also a good addition, and you should have a list of the assumptions you have used. The business plan also needs to show who will lead the company and what implementation strategy your team will follow. Need help here?
